Lower Back Pain - How to Manage Your Pain

By :

Statistics reveal that more than 80% of people in the U.S. suffer from back pains at one point or another in their lives. Lower back pain can occur for numerous reasons but some of the main reasons include; Injuries, weak joints, disc problems, sitting for long periods or even standing. Lower back pain is not limited to people that have some form of "condition" - You could be an engineer, a Hollywood actor, or a cook at McDonald's. Lower back pain has no boundaries, it affects everyone in all walks of life for a million different reasons.
Relieving Lower Back Pain
The procedure that is involved in relieving lower back pain is quite easy, provided you follow the steps as required. You will also need to have certain things to assist you such as: Ice pack, heating pad, and gel pack, anti-inflammatory (like ibuprofen for instance), The first step to take when the pain starts is to use the ice pack (or gel pack) on the affected area for a period of approx 10 to 30 minutes as this normally reduces swelling. You should also take an anti-inflammatory while using an ice pack so that you are reducing inflammation and at the same time reducing pain with the anti-inflammatory.
The next step should be to consult an experienced chiropractor. Your chiropractor can help you to get to the underlying problem which 99% of the time is some form of misalignment. An ice pack and Ibuprofen only go so far and generally do not get to the root of the problem, misalignment. It is amazing the amount of pain and discomfort that can result from a simple misalignment.
Even more amazing is the fact that so many people will suffer for 6 weeks in pain as opposed to taking 1 or 2 trips to their chiropractor to resolve the problem almost immediately.
Bottom line - The wear and tear you inflict on your body daily has an adverse effect on your overall alignment. And an out of alignment spine, neck or other area of the body results in pain. When you have this added pressure on joints, muscles or even bones this is painful.
Try stretching, ice and Ibuprofen first to try to reduce the pain but get into your chiropractors office immediately because the only way to fix the problem is to identify not only the misalignment, but also to try and pinpoint what causes the problem in the first place.
A chiropractor today is key to your being healthy and happy because when your in pain and your body hurts its hard to keep a smile on your face. A chiropractor is your best friend, find a good one!
