How to add vegetables to your diet? According to all healthy diet plans, vegetables should take up a significant part of our diet. Five servings a day is recommended amount. However, sometimes is difficult to find the new ways how else we can eat our veggies in exception of salads and stews. Here are a few suggestions how to to add variety to your vegetables ration:
- Keep washed and trimmed celery, carrot, fennel, cucumber and the like in the refrigerator; you are more likely to snack on them if they are ready to eat.
- Make vegetable juice.
- Serve a green salad with every main meal. Use olive oil, fresh lemon juice or balsamic vinegar and finely chopped herbs for a dressing.
- Make fresh pasta sauces from vegetables. Broccoli or cauliflower florets, chopped red onion, cherry tomatoes or chopped regular tomatoes, or finely shaved fennel can be tossed into just drained hot pasta and eaten immediately.
- Roast or grill your vegetables.
Carrots, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, turnips and beetroot can be all roasted in a hot oven and are perfectly delicious without adding anything to them.
Eggplant, capsicum, zucchini and whole red onions are great when grilled on a hotplate or thee barbecue.
